    Don’t let his size fool you - Peanut is the life of the party! Quick to accept a scratch behind the ears and offer a gentle hello, this striking palomino is everyone’s friend. He is incredibly versatile, attentive, and loves learning new things. Whether teaching beginner riders how to trot the trails or learning to jump, Peanut is up for anything.

  • Cheyenne

    An elegant and confident Percheron cross, Cheyenne is a well-loved leader within the herd. She keeps an eye on both her human and equine friends. You will see our experienced riding students working with her on the ranch and our equine therapy participants tackling life’s challenges by her side.

  • Cricket

    Cricket is flashy and captivating in both personality and color! Her silky coat, kind eyes and treat-seeking muzzle greet all newcomers to the ranch. Cricket excels in all aspects of our program. Whether helping teach students with her famously smooth canter or exploring the trails, you can rely on Cricket to give it her all. She loves when people visit with her and always hopes they bring a treat or two!

  • Gippy

    Gippy is a young, athletic buckskin mare with a big personality. Confident and competitive, she loves to race her equine pals around the turn out. Gippy excels at helping our advanced riders refine their skills as horsemen both in and out of the saddle. She can be found strutting among the herd, posing and posturing for any potential admirers.

  • Franklin

    A true gentleman, Franklin is a well-mannered gelding with an incredible aptitude for teaching. Always quick to make both horse and human friends, Franklin’s charisma and willingness make him an invaluable member of our herd. This chatterbox is always keeping tabs on all that goes on at the ranch - especially at dinner time.

  • Amber

    Amber is prized for her versatility and kindness. She is incredibly caring and has an uncanny ability to always know what her rider needs. During her time at the ranch, Amber has taught countless people how to ride and helped them gain confidence. With her one-in-a-million personality and signature brown and blue eyes, Amber stands out in any crowd.

  • Trooper

    With a can-do attitude and steady hooves, Trooper is true to his name. This incredibly smooth and kind buckskin gelding will take on any challenge with his rider. With the heart of an explorer and a keen sense of adventure, Trooper’s favorite thing to do is trail ride. When he isn’t riding off into the sunset, Trooper can be found hanging out with his best pals - Gippy and Bandit.

  • Millie

    A new member of our herd, Millie is still finding her place in the world. When she joined our team, Mille was timid and full of uncertainty. With time, patience, and proper care, Millie is blossoming and truly coming into her own. She now helps with riders of all experience levels and is always up for a trail ride.

  • Dusty

    Dusty found his way to Heart of the Horse when unexpected circumstances prevented his former owner from spending enough time with him. Since settling in Dusty has become a quick favorite of our more advanced riders and absolutely loves to adventure out on the trails. With a whole bunch of new friends, an exciting new job, and visits from his previous family- Dusty is truly living his best life! Be sure to come say “hi” to this handsome guy!

  • Nutmeg

    Warm, sweet, and with a bit of spice, Nutmeg lives up to her name. The largest horse in our herd, this gentle giant has become such a wonderful addition to our team. Always ready for a leisurely ride on the trails, Nutmeg is all about taking life in stride. In lessons, she is a smooth, patient teacher whose sweet disposition lends an air of security. You always know she has your back!

  • Bandit

    Bandit is an expert at snuffing out treats tucked away in pockets and is never opposed to being fawned over. Under saddle, Bandit boasts a graceful, elegant trot and a willingness that makes him a quick favorite of anyone he meets. His fine features and keen mind make him a perfect horse for our program and we are excited to see this sweet guy flourish.

  • Montie

    A newer addition to the Heart of the Horse herd, Montie has flourished in his new role. The more we all get to know him the more we fall in love with his silly side! His gorgeous dappled coat, soft eyes, and treat-seeking muzzle are quick to greet all newcomers. You can find Montie basking in the sunshine and hanging out with his best pal, Buford.

  • Buford

    This grey gelding is more than just a pretty face. Buford is an inquisitive and athletic Arabian horse with a heart of gold and a need for speed. His gentle nature makes him a quick favorite for our newer riders. Paired with a confident rider, Bufurd will follow wherever you lead with a pep in his step.

  • Brownie

    Brownie is a wonderful horse, who unfortunately was treated poorly and neglected in his past life. While he is not used for riding, Brownie now has a full life with plenty of love, treats, and grass.

  • Earl

    Earl arrived here a few years back from a rescue. His wild days have ended, so now he teaches students how to learn assertiveness, kindness, and how to post an odd trot! His Canter is as smooth as it gets though.
